We offer a number of services. Brief details are given below:
Carers Helpline 01204 363056
Please contact the Carers Helpline for any caring-related enquiry or to talk to someone in confidence about your caring situation. The Carers Helpline is open between 11am – 3pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. At other times you can leave a message and your call will be returned at the earliest opportunity.
If you prefer to talk to someone face-to-face about your caring situation you are welcome to drop-in to see us on Wednesday 11am to 1pm or by appointment only at any other time. We are on the first floor at Thicketford Centre, Thicketford Road, Bolton, BL2 2LW. Lift access to 1st floor. Click here to view directions to our offices
Information for Carers
We have an information-packed newsletter and we also have two free publications – the Carers Health Matters booklet and the Carers Wealth Check booklet (see ‘Information for Carers’ section). There are currently 29 Carers Fact-sheets available and more will be added to the series over time.
There are monthly Carers Outings to give you a short break from caring – these are a great opportunity to meet other carers and relax in pleasant surroundings. All our outings are publicised in the newsletter so make sure you don’t miss out - join our Carers Register. When funding allows we also arrange outings for you to attend with the person you care for (see ‘Events’ section).
We organise informal training sessions on a range of topics – so far we have held dance workshops, yoga and tai chi sessions, watercolour painting, basic first aid and survival skills courses. We have tested out a Looking Good, Feeling Good course last year and will be repeating it due to popular demand. Again, information on any training sessions and short courses are included in our newsletters (and in the ‘Events’ section).
Extra Support for Older Carers
Bolton Carers Support is pleased to be able to offer a new service for older carers, funded by Comic Relief. Please see seperate section 'Extra Support for Older Carers'.
